AI Overview Optimization: make your pages easy for Google to quote
AI Overviews are the AI-written summaries Google places above some results, with links to the pages it drew on. For home service searches they appear mostly on questions, like what a furnace costs or whether to repair or replace. AI Overview Optimization is how we make your pages the ones Google is able to quote.
- From $600 a month
- Free audit first
- Month-to-month. 90-day call guarantee. No lock-in.
- Based on Google's own documentation
What Google says it takes
Google's documentation is direct. A page must be indexed and eligible to show in Search with a snippet, and Google says there are no additional technical requirements, no special optimizations and no special schema or AI text files needed.
That means anyone selling a secret AI Overview trick is selling something Google says you do not need. The real work is ordinary SEO done well: pages that answer the question plainly, with prices and timelines in text, kept in step with your Business Profile.
AI Overviews are not everywhere. The largest study we found, WebFX's analysis of 237,990 US home service searches, found them on 17.7% of searches, and on 12.2% of searches that included a location. Questions get AI answers more often than "send someone now" searches, which mostly show the map pack.
Where they show up
- 17.7% of US home service searches in the WebFX study
- 12.2% of searches that included a location
- Mostly questions: cost, how long, repair or replace, do I need a permit
- Short buying searches still mostly show the map pack and ads
What we change on your pages
Each change makes a page easier to quote, and easier for a homeowner to use.
What is included
- Direct answers at the top. The question in a heading, and a clear answer in the first 40 to 60 words with a number where there is one
- Cost and timeline pages. Honest price ranges and the factors that move them, for each main job
- Follow-up questions covered. Short sections for how long, what affects price, repair or replace, permits and warranty, each standing on its own
- Tables and lists. Comparisons as tables and steps as numbered lists that are easy to read and quote correctly
- A named author. A real person with a license and years in the trade, shown on each guide
- Crawl and snippet checks. Pages indexed, crawlable by your host and CDN, and not blocked from showing snippets
- Business Profile match. Hours, services and service areas that read the same on the profile and the site
- Structured data that matches the page. Added where it helps, and always matched to visible text
How the work runs
We start with the questions your customers ask, then check what Google shows for each and who it cites.
Four steps
- List the questions. We build a short list of the questions homeowners ask before they call, from your calls, reviews and search suggestions.
- Check who is cited. For each question we see whether an AI Overview appears and which pages it cites.
- Fix or write the page. We rewrite the pages you have, or write new ones, to answer the question better than the cited pages.
- Track every month. We repeat the same checks each month and report what changed.
How you can see it working
Google counts clicks and impressions from AI features in the normal Search Console Performance report, under the Web search type, with no separate filter. We combine that with a fixed list of questions we check by hand each month.
What we report
- Whether an AI Overview appears for each question on your list
- Whether your pages are cited in it
- Search Console impressions and clicks for your cost and how-to pages
- Calls and form requests from those pages
- The pages changed or added that month

Questions about AI Overview Optimization
What are Google AI Overviews?
They are AI-written summaries Google places above some search results, with links to the pages it drew on. AI Mode is a separate chat-style search inside Google.
Is there a special way to get into AI Overviews?
No. Google says a page only needs to be indexed and eligible to show a snippet, and that there are no extra technical requirements, special optimizations or special schema.
Do AI Overviews take clicks away from my site?
On informational pages they can. Pew Research Center found people clicked a regular result in 8% of visits when Google showed an AI summary, against 15% when it did not. For searches that lead straight to a call, the map pack is still there.
What kind of pages get cited?
Pages that answer a question plainly near the top, state prices and timelines in text, are easy to read, name who wrote them and match your Business Profile.
How do you measure AI Overview results?
Search Console counts AI feature traffic in the Web performance report with no separate filter, so we also keep a list of customer questions and check each month whether an AI Overview appears and cites you.
Should I block AI Overviews from using my site?
For a local business that wants calls, blocking is usually a bad trade, because the same controls limit how your pages appear in regular search results.
